N+1 converter needs one switch for every phase and one common switch, so it has fewer switches than asymmetric converter. The benefit brings a drawback is that the control angle range is limited since the common switch is shared for commutation making it is complex. The project’s purpose is to operate the SRM (Switched Reluctance Motor) in open speed loop through N+1 (Miller) topology control strategy.
