Abstract:LabVIEW™isagraphicalprogrammingtoolusedinproductionandlaboratoryenvironmentstocollectdataandsupplycontrolsignalstomonitorandcontroltheenvironmentit'smonitoring.TheDS3900isanRS-232to2-wireinterfacewhichisdesignedtoprovideahardware/firmwareinterfacebetweenaPC'sserialportandany2-wiredevice.

ThisapplicationbriefdescribeshowtouseLabVIEW,viaaPCserialporttocontrola2-wireinterface.AninterfacetoaDS1086isgivenasanexample.ThebriefalsodescribeshowtoconfiguretheLabVIEWgraphicaluserinterface(GUI)tocommunicatetotheDS3900serialportadapter.ExamplesaregivenonhowtomanipulatetheregistersettingsinaDS1086low-EMIEconOscillator™.FlowchartsshowingthedetailsonhowtocommunicatetotheDS1086areprovided.
