Althoughthesemicrocontrollersdonothaveabuilt-in
A/DConverterlikeothercontrollersfromMicrochip,the
comparatorfunction,internalvoltagereferenceandtim-
erscanbeusedtodigitizeananalogsignal.
SomeofthestandardPICmicroshaveacomparator
module,consistingoftwocomparators,bothofwhich
canbeconnectedtoPORTAinavarietyofconfigura-
tions.Theinternalvoltagereferencedividercanbe
usedwiththecomparatorstoestablishthresholds.
Additionally,oneofthecomparatorinputscanbecon-
figuredtotheRA2portallowingfortheuseofanexter-
nalvoltagereference.Bycombiningtheseelements,a
firstordermodulatorandfirstorderfiltercanbe
designed,emulatingthefunctionofananalog-to-digital
