Grid Connected Photo Voltaic (GCPV) system is becoming popular due to its high energy conversion efficiency. However, it faces challenges related to grid stability, especially during grid faults and load curtailment. To overcome these challenges, a control strategy for GCPV system is proposed. The strategy involves a multimode inverter control which can handle both low voltage ride through (LVRT) and high voltage ride through (HVRT) capability. The control algorithm ensures that the GCPV system remains connected to the grid during grid faults and load curtailment, without causing damage to the inverter. The strategy is implemented using a digital signal processor (DSP) and the experimental results show the efficiency of the proposed control strategy.
