Wind energy conversion systems (WECS) face challenges due to voltage variations in the grid, impacting the performance of the wind turbine. To address this, the Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) capability and High Voltage Ride Through (HVRT) capability are essential for WECS. This article discusses multimode inverter control techniques that can enable WECS to operate efficiently under both LVRT and HVRT. By implementing these techniques, the voltage variations can be managed, and the WECS can operate optimally.
