ingthevaluesforcapacitorsandresistorsfromthe
manufacturers’databookswillgetyouacircuitthat
oscillates.However,manyconditionscanadversely
affecttheperformanceofyouroscillatordesign.Higher
temperaturesandlowersupplyvoltagescanlowerthe
amplifiergain(andthustheloopgainintheoscillator
circuit)causingpoor,slow,ornostart-up.Coldertem-
peraturesandhighersupplyvoltagescanincrease
amplifiergain,causingthecircuittobeforcedtoa
higherharmonicandthrowoffthetiming.Thecrystal
canalsobeoverdrivenandbecomepotentiallydam-
